Curator Pierre-Stéphane Proust asked 65 artistes to choose a stamp that struck an emotional chord, to "gently rise to the silent heights of memory" - in the very image Marcel Proust.

He invited each of his correspondants to send him an illustred enveloppe franchised with the evocative stamp and a short text justifying the choice.
